Softball Recap: Spring Woods Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Spring Woods won the last time they faced Austin and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tigers put the hurt on the Mustangs with a sharp 12-3 win. With that victory, the Tigers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Addison Bruton and Kylie Leatham did most of the damage at the plate: Bruton scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Leatham scored three runs while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs Leatham has posted since back in February. Sophia Cisneros was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Spring Woods hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in four consecutive matches.

Spring Woods' win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-14. As for Austin, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-5.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Spring Woods is set to challenge their familiar foe Madison at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Austin will square off against rival Milby at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
