Softball Recap: East Bernard Snags 16th Win in Last 17 Games

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only East Bernard walked away with it. They blew past the New Waverly Bulldogs 13-1 on Saturday. The Brahmas might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 matches by six runs or more this season.

Rylie Holder made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up a single earned run in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run and three RBI.

In other batting news, Samantha Fryer was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four runs, two stolen bases, and two RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Abigail Garcia was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.

East Bernard has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.1 runs on average over those games. As for New Waverly, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 12-13-2.

East Bernard didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-1 win against Kirbyville on the 3rd. New Waverly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
