Softball Game Preview: George Washington Eagles vs. Bassett Bengals

George Washington hasn't had much luck against Bassett recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Eagles will square off against the Bengals at 5:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

George Washington fell victim to Halifax County and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Comets, falling 18-0. The defeat leaves the Eagles still looking for their first win of the season.

Meanwhile, Bassett was not able to break out of their rough patch last Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 18-4 to Halifax County.

Bassett's defeat dropped their record down to 1-8. As for George Washington, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

George Washington suffered a grim 19-0 defeat to Bassett in their previous meeting on April 3rd. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
