Basketball Recap: Meridian Comes Up Short

Meridian lost against Itasca on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Meridian Yellowjackets lost to the Itasca Wampus Cats on the road by a 37-20 margin. The Yellowjackets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meridian's loss dropped their record down to 8-15. As for Itasca, they have been performing well recently as they've won 13 of their last 16 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Meridian will challenge Meyer at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Meridian is facing Meyer at the right time seeing as Meyer is stuck on a 17-game losing streak. Itasca has already played their next matchup (against Bosqueville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
