While Union Area might've come up empty on Wednesday, Mia Preuhs wasn't going down without a fight. Nobody could stop Preuhs as she struck out 11 batters over eight innings while giving up just two earned runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances.

Coming up, Preuhs and Union Area will venture away from home to square off against New Castle at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Sadly, Preuhs' big day wasn't enough to stop the loss, which snapped the Scotties' 13-game streak of wins on the road.
