Softball Recap: Orting Comes Up Short

Orting blew Eatonville out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Eatonville got their revenge. The Cardinals fell just short of the Cruisers by a score of 15-13. Cardinals fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Cruisers since Friday.

Norah Fenton stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryann Polly, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Orting has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Eatonville, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Coming up, Orting will venture away from home to take on Graham-Kapowsin at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 15th straight win, something the Cardinals surely won't give up without a fight. Eatonville does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
