Recap: Malden Golden Tornados vs. Lynn English Bulldogs
The Malden Golden Tornados lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Thursday was a bit more commanding. They were dealt a 73-44 loss at the hands of Lynn English. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Malden in their matchups with Lynn English: they've now lost nine in a row.
Carmelo Buese was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and five steals for Lynn English. Buese is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Denzell Guillen was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five assists and three steals.
Malden has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Lynn English, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-3.
Malden will head out on the road to take on Belchertown at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lynn English, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Brockton at 7:00 p.m. on February 9th. Lynn English knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 17 matches -- so hopefully Brockton likes a good challenge.
