Football Recap: C. Milton Wright Snaps Three-Game Streak of Wins at Home

C. Milton Wright dropped to 5-4 on Thursday, ending the team's three-game streak of wins at home. They fell 24-14 to the Elkton Golden Elks. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Golden Elks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Despite the loss, C. Milton Wright still got an impressive performance from Jack Sabol, who threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes, and also rushed for 45 yards. Sabol's passing game has become a key predictor of the Mustangs' success: the team is 4-1 when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise.

As for Elkton, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 9-0. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 35.7 points this season.

Elkton's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Owen McBride, who threw for 241 yards and four TDs while completing 73.1% of his passes. Isaiah Yates did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 149 receiving yards.
