Baseball Recap: Valley Vikings vs. Spring Valley Grizzlies

Valley extended their losing streak to eight on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-8. They came up short against the Spring Valley Grizzlies, falling 17-2. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Grizzlies this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-0 on Monday.

As for Spring Valley, their record is now 8-10-1. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six games by seven runs or more this season.

For Spring Valley's part, Jayce Dizon made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and only one walk). Dizon was even better at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Spring Valley got a big performance out of Vincent Perrone, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Perrone is becoming a predictor of the Grizzlies' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 4-10-1 when he doesn't). Jeremy Correia was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
