Softball Recap: Mcgregor Has No Trouble Against Whitney

McGregor hadn't done well against Whitney recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Bulldogs blew past the Wildcats 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won 15 matches by seven runs or more so far this season.

Emma Knox spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Addyson Todd, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

The win made it two in a row for McGregor and bumps their season record up to 22-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Whitney, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 12 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-13-1 record this season.

McGregor will take on Riesel at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians will roll in looking for their 11th straight win, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight. Whitney does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
