Basketball Recap: La Veta Skates Past Manzanola with Ease

La Veta's game back in December of 2024 was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They really took it to the Manzanola Bobcats for the full four quarters, racking up a 56-22 victory. The Redhawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three games by 34 points or more this season.

La Veta had a senior duo take command as Tristan Musgrave posted 16 points and eight rebounds and Isiah Rodriguez went 6 of 13 on his way to 15 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendall Ingram, who had nine points and six steals.

The win got La Veta back to even at 4-4. As for Manzanola, they are on an 11-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. La Veta will host Granada at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Manzanola, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Manzanola Bobcats face off against the Walsenburg Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
