Baseball Game Preview: Victor Valley Christian Royals vs. Silver Valley Trojans

The Victor Valley Christian Royals are taking a road trip to challenge the Silver Valley Trojans at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.

Victor Valley Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy on Thursday. They fell 4-0 to Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy. The Royals have struggled against Cobalt Institute of Math & Science Academy recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost meetings.

Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last matchup, Silver Valley made sure to put some runs up on the board against Palmdale Academy Charter School on Wednesday. Silver Valley blew past Palmdale Academy Charter School 11-1. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Trojans' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Aaron Bowlan was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. He also put up two doubles, which were his first of the season.

In other batting news, Jonathyn Yrigoyen was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. He also hit a triple, marking his first of the season. Timothey Yrigoyen was another key player, scoring two runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Silver Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .590. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palmdale Academy Charter School only posted an OBP of .379.

With the win, Silver Valley broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-3. As for Victor Valley Christian, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Victor Valley Christian suffered a grim 26-14 defeat to Silver Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can Victor Valley Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
