Football Recap: Riverton Takes a Loss

Riverton lost against Athens back in October of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hawks were outmatched by the Warriors and fell 55-13. The Hawks were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-6.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Gage Honn and Talon Digiovanna. Honn rushed for 193 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry while Digiovanna rushed for 157 yards and a pair of scores on only ten carries. What's more, Digiovanna posted two rushing touchdowns, the most he's had since back in September of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for Riverton and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Athens, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

As of now, neither Riverton nor the Warriors have any future games scheduled.
