Matthew Bredel posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. As a matter of fact, he produced his best game of the campaign: he struck out eight batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits (and not a single walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Bredel's strong effort led Burgettstown over Bethlehem Center and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blue Devils are 7-2 against the Bulldogs going back to April of 2017, a lead they'll look to extend.
