Baseball Recap: Hatley's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Hatley can now relate to. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eupora Eagles on Thursday. The Tigers' defeat signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.

Evan George and Garett Wilkinson stepped up to the plate in a big way. George went a perfect 4-for-4 with one run, while Wilkinson went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. George is becoming a predictor of Hatley's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is 2-1 (and 12-13 when he doesn't).

Hatley's loss dropped their record down to 14-14. As for Eupora, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Eupora beat Hatley by a score of 7-3 on Friday.
