Basketball Recap: DeMotte Christian Comes Up Short

DeMotte Christian played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Marquette Catholic Blazers and fell 84-42. If the Knights were looking for revenge after losing 57-32 to them when the teams met back in March of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

When it comes to explaining why DeMotte Christian lost, don't look at Tony Bos. Despite the final result, he en route to 24 points. The game was Bos' fourth in a row with at least 19 points. Titus Terpstra was another key player, putting up six points.

Leading Marquette Catholic to victory were Josiah Mays and Vaughn Rael-Kludt. Mays on his way to 19 points and eight assists, while Rael-Kludt to rack up 21 points and four steals. Those 21 points gave Rael-Kludt a new career-high. Aiden Johnson also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

DeMotte Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Marquette Catholic, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-11.

DeMotte Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 56-35 victory against Whiting on the 15th. As for Marquette Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-47 win against River Forest on the 14th.
