Baseball Recap: Delaware County Christian Takes a Loss

Delaware County Christian was the 10-4 winner over Bristol when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Knights took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warriors on Tuesday. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Matteo DeBellis made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last six times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Dixon, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Delaware County Christian's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-7. As for Bristol, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-2.

Looking ahead, Delaware County Christian will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Renaissance Academy at 3:45 p.m. As for Bristol, they will face off against Harry S. Truman at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Warriors are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on a seven-game losing streak.
