Soccer Game Preview: Eaglecrest vs. Horizon

The Eaglecrest Raptors are taking a road trip to take on the Horizon Hawks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eaglecrest's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Eaglecrest managed to keep up with Legend until halftime on Saturday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Eaglecrest came up short against Legend, falling 5-1.

Meanwhile, Horizon kept a clean sheet against Northglenn on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Norsemen with a sharp 4-0 win. With that victory, Horizon brought their scoring average up to 2.6 goals per game.

They hit Northglenn with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Cadence Henry (2), Hayden Hawley, and Addyson Bills.

The win made it two in a row for Horizon and bumps their season record up to 3-1-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two games. As for Eaglecrest, they now have a losing record of 1-2-1.

Eaglecrest was able to grind out a solid win over Horizon in their previous matchup back in March of 2024, winning 4-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Eaglecrest since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
