Basketball Recap: Clarksville Academy Piles Up the Points Against Friendship Christian

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ezell-Harding Christian, Clarksville Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They blew past the Friendship Christian Commanders 70-35. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-21.

It was another big night for Anna Hellums, who went 5 of 7 on her way to 13 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Vicky Anderson, who went 6 for 8 en route to 13 points and four steals.

Clarksville Academy moved to 13-9 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Friendship Christian, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the loss, which was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Clarksville Academy and Friendship Christian could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. Clarksville Academy will challenge Goodpasture Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday down 115 places (159 vs. 44). Similarly, Friendship Christian (ranked 271st) will meet Ezell-Harding Christian (ranked 37th) at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
