Recap: Spencer Greenwave vs. Rutland Hurricanes

The Spencer Greenwave put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They really took it to Rutland for the full four quarters, racking up a 88-6 win at home. Spencer's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Alexandria Berk was her usual excellent self, dropping a triple-double on 19 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists. That's the first time this season that she pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Naomi Berk, who scored 17 points along with eight steals and seven assists.

Spencer pushed their record up to 6-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.5 points per game. As for Rutland, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.

Spencer will be home for the holidays to greet Northside at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Northside comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Rutland will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Southwest at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
