Olean scored the most points they've had this season on Monday, but it wasn't enough. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 42-30 loss to the Salamanca Warriors. The defeat leaves the Huskies without a win on the season.

Salamanca's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Makenzie Crouse led the charge by dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. What's more, Crouse also racked up five steals, the most she's had since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Skyla Dowdy, who posted 12 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Olean's record is now 0-5. As for Salamanca, they now have a winning record of 4-3.

Olean will take on Allegany-Limestone at 7:30 p.m. on January 14th. As for Salamanca, they will face off against Fredonia at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
