Baseball Recap: Weatherford Beats Lake Ridge for Their Fourth Straight Win

Weatherford won the last time they faced Lake Ridge and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Kangaroos skirted past the Eagles 5-3. Winning may never get old, but the Kangaroos sure are getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Bryce Smith was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI. Those two RBI gave him a new career-high. Cory Pantoja was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Weatherford's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-12-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Lake Ridge, they moved to 7-10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Weatherford will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
