Basketball Recap: Horizon Comes Up Short

Horizon was the 64-62 winner over Mountain Pointe when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Horizon Huskies were dealt a 75-45 loss at the hands of the Mountain Pointe Pride on Friday.

Horizon's loss came despite strong showings from Ethan Hayes and Ryan Milner. Hayes went 6 of 13 on his way to 19 points and three blocks, while Milner posted ten points. That's the most blocks Hayes has posted since back in November of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain Pointe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcus Isaac, who went 5 for 9 to rack up 12 points and six boards. Isaac is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 45% in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jayvein Moody, who put up eight points in addition to five rebounds and four steals.

Horizon's defeat dropped their record down to 14-10. As for Mountain Pointe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Looking ahead, Horizon will be playing at home against Notre Dame Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mountain Pointe, they will head out to face off against Desert Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Desert Mountain has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the match with three straight losses, while Mountain Pointe will come in with three straight wins.
