Baseball Recap: Asotin Comes Up Short

Asotin lost against Freeman on Saturday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Asotin fell 8-4 to Freeman. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

MORGAN BUNCH was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. CHASE ENGLE was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Asotin's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Freeman, they pushed their record up to 7-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Asotin will face off against Liberty at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Asotin is facing Liberty at the right time seeing as Liberty is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Freeman, they will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna at 4:00 p.m. Lind-Ritzville/Sprague/Washtucna has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.17 runs per game on average), something Freeman will no doubt try to take advantage of.
