Baseball Recap: Weslaco East Wildcats vs. Mercedes Tigers
Weslaco East barely beat Mercedes the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Weslaco East Wildcats' pitcher stepped up to hand the Mercedes Tigers a 7-0 shutout on Tuesday. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.
Antonio Solis was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 18 over seven innings pitched. Solis was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
