Basketball Recap: Hutchinson Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Hutchinson had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They came out on top against the Newton Railroaders by a score of 58-51. That's more bragging rights for the Salthawks, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The win got Hutchinson back to even at 8-8. As for Newton, their loss dropped their record down to 9-8.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hutchinson will head out to square off against Maize on Tuesday. Maize knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully Hutchinson likes a good challenge. As for Newton, they will face off against Salina Central at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
