Baseball Recap: Cerro Gordo/Bement Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Cerro Gordo/Bement's offense. They lost 10-0 to the Warrensburg-Latham Cardinals on Monday. The Broncos haven't had much luck with the Cardinals recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Cerro Gordo/Bement saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mickey Tirpak, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Tirpak is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Brayden Strack also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.

Cerro Gordo/Bement's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Warrensburg-Latham, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cerro Gordo/Bement will host Tuscola at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Warrensburg-Latham, they will welcome Maroa-Forsyth at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
