Football Recap: Pompano Beach Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Pompano Beach's offense. They lost 20-0 to the Pembroke Pines Charter Jaguars on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Golden Tornadoes in their meetings with the Jaguars: they've now lost four in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Pembroke Pines Charter to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ava Rivera, who threw for 143 yards and three touchdowns.

Pompano Beach now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2.

Pompano Beach didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 26-0 defeat against Stoneman Douglas on the 7th. As for Pembroke Pines Charter, they will face off against South Broward at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Jaguars 6.4, the Bulldogs 8.1) so any points scored will be well earned.
