Volleyball Game Preview: New Bern Bears vs. D.H. Conley Vikings

New Bern is 0-10 against D.H. Conley since September of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Bears will face off against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m.

New Bern came up short against South Central on Thursday, falling 3-0.

The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-17, 25-9.

The losing side was boosted by Haley Whitehead, who had 12 digs.

If J.H. Rose wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played D.H. Conley, they should've done a better job of containing Paige Money. The Vikings put the hurt on the Rampants with a sharp 3-0 victory on Thursday with plenty of help from Money, who had 22 digs and two assists. She has been hot, having posted ten or more digs the last five times she's played.

One reason for the win was D.H. Conley's just kept getting better, winning each set by more points than the last. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20, 25-16.

D.H. Conley has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-2 record this season. As for New Bern, their loss dropped their record down to 12-8.

New Bern suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to D.H. Conley in their previous meeting two weeks ago. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Money, who had 18 digs and four aces. Now that the Bears know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
