Basketball Recap: Portsmouth West Takes a Loss

Portsmouth West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 65-40 to the South Webster Jeeps. While losing is never fun, the Senators can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 335th, while the Jeeps are ranked 47th).

Eli Roberts was his usual excellent self, going 11 of 19 en route to 33 points and eight boards for South Webster. The game was Roberts' eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Beau Stephens, who posted eight points.

Portsmouth West's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for South Webster, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Portsmouth West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 47-43 win against Valley on the 31st. South Webster has also already played their next matchup, a 57-49 loss against Minford on the 31st.
