Basketball Game Preview: Abilene Christian Panthers vs. Covenant Classical Cavaliers

The Abilene Christian Panthers will square off against the Covenant Classical Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Abilene Christian is headed into Tuesday's contest hungry for a win as their strong season has now been derailed by two straight losses. They opened the new year with a less-than-successful 59-52 defeat to First Baptist.

Meanwhile, Covenant Classical suffered their biggest loss since February 2, 2024 on Friday. 2025 welcomed they with a 57-36 loss courtesy of Fort Worth THESA. While losing is never fun, the Cavaliers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 838th, while the Riders are ranked 407th).

Abilene Christian's defeat ended an eight-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-7. As for Covenant Classical, their loss dropped their record down to 10-8.
