Basketball Recap: Trinity Christian Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Trinity Christian couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They took a 65-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of Harrells Christian Academy on Saturday. Trinity Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Harrells Christian Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Trinity Christian still got an impressive performance from Xayden Watson, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 22 points and five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dyjon 'Bosh' Carver, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

Antonio Mckoy continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Harrells Christian Academy, almost dropping a double-double with 28 points and nine boards. Mckoy's evening made it 19 games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Dashaun Mckoy was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Trinity Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 23-9. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they pushed their record up to 30-2 with the victory, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

Trinity Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 53-48 loss against The Burlington School on the 18th.
