Volleyball Recap: Saturday's Defeat Ends Olpe's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Olpe unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-match winning streak on Saturday. They fell 2-0 to the Bishop Seabury Academy Seahawks. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Seahawks apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Olpe was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. The final score came out to 25-14, 25-22.

Ella Wilson paced Olpe's offense, picking up five kills. Wilson got some help from Kayla Steinke and her four assists. Steinke was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Bishop Seabury Academy found their leader in freshman Presley Peterson, who had 12 digs and two assists. Peterson has been hot for a while, having posted ten or more digs the last 13 times she's played.

Olpe's loss dropped their record down to 14-8. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-6.

Olpe wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Northern Heights on the 27th. As for Bishop Seabury Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Goessel on the 27th.
