Baseball Game Preview: Marksville Tigers vs. Avoyelles Mustangs

The Marksville Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Avoyelles Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Marksville is coming into the game on a six-game losing streak.

Marksville came up short against Rapides on Saturday, falling 9-3.

Marksville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Caden Evans, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. Evans is also crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's stole at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Avoyelles). They put the hurt on Pickering with a sharp 15-0 win on Saturday. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their five-game losing streak.

Marksville's loss dropped their record down to 1-11. As for Avoyelles, their win bumped their record up to 6-7.

Marksville came up short against Avoyelles in their previous matchup back in February, falling 4-1. Can Marksville avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
