Basketball Game Preview: Muskogee Roughers vs. Owasso Rams

Muskogee hasn't had much luck against Owasso recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Muskogee Roughers will head out on the road to face off against the Owasso Rams at 8:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Muskogee sitting on three straight victories and Owasso on 11.

Muskogee will bounce into Friday's contest after beating Stillwater, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Muskogee came out on top against Stillwater by a score of 64-57 on Tuesday. Given the Roughers' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 123rd, while the Pioneers are ranked 292nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Owasso against Bixby on Tuesday as the squad secured a 71-34 win. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matches by 26 points or more this season.

Muskogee is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Owasso, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Muskogee took a serious blow against Owasso when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 82-43. Can Muskogee avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
