While Alleghany's win against Rockbridge County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Mountaineers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Wildcats on Wednesday. The Mountaineers haven't had any issues with the Wildcats recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Alleghany's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Rockbridge County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Alleghany will challenge Fort Defiance at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mountaineers will need to watch out since the Indians have now posted at least ten runs in their last three games. Rockbridge County does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
