The Asheboro Hybrid Academy Warriors waltzed into their contest on Friday with four straight wins but they left with five. They walked away with a 54-44 victory over Sheets Memorial Christian. That's two games straight that Asheboro Hybrid Academy has won by exactly ten points.
Levi Gaskins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 14 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carter Edmonds, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Despite the defeat, Sheets Memorial Christian saw an underclassman step up: Jude Howell scored 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Howell has scored all season. Levi Ferguson was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Asheboro Hybrid Academy pushed their record up to 10-8 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Sheets Memorial Christian, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-15.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Asheboro Hybrid Academy will take on the Archers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Bradford Academy comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for Sheets Memorial Christian, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the at 7:30 p.m.
