Volleyball Recap: Locust Grove's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Tuesday

It was a good run, but Locust Grove unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagle's Landing Christian Academy Chargers. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Wildcats haven't been shut out since back in August.

While Locust Grove ultimately came up short, they really made Eagle's Landing Christian Academy work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 26-24.

Ella Norsworthy paced Locust Grove's offense, picking up seven kills. Norsworthy got some help from Avril Tomme and her ten assists. Jorie Young controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Locust Grove's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 12-5-1. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8-1 record this season.

Locust Grove didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Hampton on the 9th. As for Eagle's Landing Christian Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Fayette County on the 11th.
