Basketball Recap: Wallowa Comes Up Short

Wallowa was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-37 heartbreaker at the hands of the Elgin Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Cougars can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked 201st, while the Huskies are ranked 87th).

Wallowa's loss dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Elgin, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Wallowa has already played their next match (against Pine Eagle), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Elgin also has no score uploaded for their next game, this one against Powder Valley.
