Basketball Recap: East Victorious

East's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They had just enough and edged the Hutchinson Salthawks out 61-58.

Ismael Berry continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 8 for 17 en route to 24 points and four steals. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Henderson, who went 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points in addition to seven assists and five boards.

East was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

East now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hutchinson, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-4.

East wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 59-55 defeat against Lawrence Free State on the 25th. As for Hutchinson, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 63-61 loss against Manhattan on the 25th.
