Volleyball Recap: Mater Dei Wins High-Profile Contest Against Perry

Mater Dei is ranked highly in their home state and on Friday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of Perry. The Monarchs walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Pumas. The Monarchs were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Pumas, so the Monarchs were just returning the favor.

Mater Dei never let Perry on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-23.

Mater Dei has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 14-8-2 record this season. Having lost for the first time this season, Perry fell to 16-1.

Mater Dei didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against O'Connor on the 29th. As for Perry, they have also already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Brophy College Prep on the 29th.
