Basketball Game Preview: Carver Panthers vs. Therrell Panthers

The Carver Panthers will head out to square off against the Therrell Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Therrell took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Carver, who comes in off a win.

Carver took a loss when they played away from home on Friday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They strolled past Decatur with points to spare, taking the game 39-25.

It was another big night for Amiyah Floyd, who posted 24 points. That's the most points she has posted since back in November of 2024.

Meanwhile, Therrell lost to Coretta Scott King YWLA on the road by a 59-42 margin on Friday.

Carver will need focus on slowing down Caliea Baisden, one of several Therrell players who made an impact when they last played. She scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Azil Hazzard, who had 11 points and five rebounds.

The victory got Carver back to even at 9-9. As for Therrell, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.

Carver strolled past Therrell in their previous matchup back in December of 2024 by a score of 45-30. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carver since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
