Volleyball Recap: Ann Sobrato Comes Up Short

Ann Sobrato was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They fell 3-1 to the Santa Cruz Cardinals. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Cardinals from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Rae Barua paced Ann Sobrato's offense, picking up 17 kills. Barua got some help from Jordan Bouton and her 23 assists. Jordyn Scettrini controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Ann Sobrato's loss dropped their record down to 10-16. As for Santa Cruz, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 15-7.

Coincidentally, Ann Sobrato and Santa Cruz will both be playing Pacific Collegiate the next time they take the court. The Cardinals will head out to face the Pumas at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, while the Bulldogs will play them later in the day, at 5:00 p.m.
