Baseball Game Preview: Ringgold Rams vs. Uniontown Red Raiders

The Ringgold Rams will challenge the Uniontown Red Raiders at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ringgold's pitching crew has only allowed four runs per game this season, so Uniontown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Tuesday, Ringgold didn't have quite enough to beat West Mifflin and fell 5-4. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Titans recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Anthony Koziel was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out seven batters over six innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Alex Kolano made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season. Sam Allen was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Meanwhile, Uniontown came into Thursday's matchup having lost six straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top against Southmoreland by a score of 7-3 on Thursday.

Uniontown's win was truly a team effort as nine different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jameson Carter, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run.

Uniontown was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Ringgold's defeat dropped their record down to 4-8. As for Uniontown, their victory bumped their record up to 2-7.
