Football Game Preview: Bishop Shanahan Eagles vs. Coatesville Red Raiders

Bishop Shanahan hasn't had much luck against Coatesville recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Eagles will head out to challenge the Red Raiders at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

On Friday, Bishop Shanahan came up short against Downingtown East and fell 35-26. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania football rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Cougars are ranked 27th).

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for Coatesville's offense. They were dealt a 33-0 defeat at the hands of Downingtown West on Friday. The Red Raiders haven't had much luck with the Whippets recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Bishop Shanahan's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for Coatesville, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 7-2.

Bishop Shanahan beat Coatesville 21-14 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
