Basketball Preview: River Forest Ingots vs. Wheeler Bearcats

For the first time this season, River Forest will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out on the road to square off against the Wheeler Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Forest will be strutting in after a victory while Wheeler will be coming in after a loss.

River Forest will have to contain Nick Scott as he made an impact in Wheeler's last game. He went 6-for-7 to rack up 20 points. Scott has also also been stellar as far as three-point shooting accuracy is concerned: he's posted one of at least 43% every time he's hit the court this season. Another player making a difference was Conner Welch, who posted six points.

The victory got River Forest back to even at 1-1. As for Wheeler, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

River Forest strolled past Wheeler in their previous meeting back in December of 2024 by a score of 61-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Ingots since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
