Basketball Recap: Stargate School Snaps Ten-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Stargate School's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They took down the Thornton Trojans 41-27. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Eagles as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Stargate School's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Soonjin Yoon, who posted ten points along with eight steals and five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Vika Berg, who had nine points.

Yoon wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Stargate School was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Despite the defeat, Thornton had strong showings from Zhane Moore, who earned three points and eight boards, and Angie Lor, who put up three points and three steals.

Stargate School's win ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Thornton, their record is now 3-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Stargate School will venture away from home to challenge Liberty Common at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Thornton, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fort Morgan at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
