Baseball Game Preview: LaBrae Vikings vs. Mogadore Wildcats

The LaBrae Vikings will take on the Mogadore Wildcats in a tournament on Saturday. LaBrae is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, LaBrae earned a 4-1 win over Southeast.

Austin Rowe spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 13 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Landon Brunstetter was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April.

Meanwhile, Mogadore fell victim to Chippewa and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Chipps, falling 7-0. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

LaBrae is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Mogadore, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
