Basketball Recap: Springfield Takes a Loss

After flying high against Bogalusa last Wednesday, Springfield came back down to earth. The Springfield Bulldogs took a blow against the Doyle Tigers on Friday, falling 49-18. The Bulldogs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-6.

They used a three-pronged attack on offense: Kali O'Rourke, Raylan Smith, and Cameron Culbertson posted four points each. Nickaiya Martin held things down on the boards with 14 rebounds.

Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Doyle, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their 14th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Springfield will head out to challenge Pine at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Pine will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Springfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Doyle, they will welcome Bogalusa at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Doyle is facing Bogalusa at the right time seeing as Bogalusa is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
