Basketball Recap: Mulvane Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mulvane had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They took down the Winfield Vikings 49-34. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 129th, while the Vikings are ranked 318th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Mulvane's victory bumped their record up to 14-7-1. As for Winfield, they dropped their record down to 1-20 with the loss, which was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Mulvane will square off against rival McPherson at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Winfield is set to challenge their familiar foe Buhler at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
